This book is alright. Sounded good, but really not my type. I just don't like children as my main "ghost" or "paranormat" hunters.Maybe would be better a as pre-teen or teen book.

The Haunting of Sprucehaven Inn A Paranormal Club Mystery Paranormal Club Mysteries Book 2 eBook Barbara M Norton Reviews
I really enjoyed "Ghost Child", the first of the Paranormal Club Mysteries, and this one is as good or better. This time Jenny and her friends investigate a series of strange events at the Sprucehaven Inn, but after they experiment with a do-it-yourself séance, they quickly find out that they may be in over their heads.
Like the first one, it is ideal for children from the age of 8 on up. It has enough mystery and suspense to make it an exciting read, but doesn't try to impose adult themes, language or anything really frightening on young readers. The early part of the story has it's fair share of humor and near calamity, which kept me smiling, if not laughing out loud, but like "Ghost Child", the underlying tale also sheds light on an important historical event in a sensitive and engaging way. Even as an adult, it kept me interested until the end!
The Haunting of Sprucehaven Inn is a marvelous mystery. I was amazed at how well it targets and capitalizes on the likely interests of 11ish year old readers. Wise too, (I thought) to have the chapters so short and focussed. Realistic in showing how difficult it was for the three Paranormal Club members to keep secret the real purpose of their meetings…and, of course, of their secret Club…their use of neat, but appropriate white lies to their parents.
This book also acquaints the reader with an important national historical site and certainly raised one’s regard for Native Americans. Clever. Engaging, And, overall, a wholesome book for any young reader!
I chose this title with my 12-year-old son for him to enjoy on family vacation. He enjoyed it so much, we all ended up reading this fast-moving and historically accurate mystery. It was just complicated enough to be engaging, and my son identified with the young heroes of the book. We highly recommend it for the young readers in the family!
This book is alright. Sounded good, but really not my type. I just don't like children as my main "ghost" or "paranormat" hunters.
Maybe would be better a as pre-teen or teen book.
